The London Community Gospel Choir and the African Caribbean Evangelical Alliance came together in partnership to promote and develop gospel music and arts in Britain and Europe through establishing The British Gospel Arts Consortium Ltd in June 1999. Founders Juliet Fletcher and Andrea Encinas organised its first major event, G2K Festival in 2000.
“Thanks to festival funding received from the Millennium Commission and London Arts, British Gospel Arts is now a thriving arts organisation working in schools and communities across London and running workshops as far as Italy, Ireland and Scotland,” said Arts Director, Andrea Encinas.
Gospel music is undoubtedly spiritual in nature and requires expression of feeling, using body, mind and spirit. It is something that everyone can share in regardless of age, race, beliefs and abilities. The most important requirement for our courses is the desire to learn, bags of enthusiasm and the willingness to experiment, conquer inhibitions and have fun!
We have years of experience in this specialist field and are continually setting new standards. We are the education arm of LCGC and have good links into the music industry. We offer a holistic service from vocal training to CD production.
