The London Community Gospel Choir are supporting the England Team this month at the start of the World Cup in Germany on 10th June.
Having already recorded the Official World Cup song ‘World at Your Feet' with the rock band Embrace, LCGC are encouraging the England fans to adopt this anthem for the England team.
FA marketing manager Tom Harold said: "The official World Cup song has become something of an institution and it is really important that we have an original and exciting track. We're confident that Embrace's song will capture the imagination of the fans and players alike."
Rev Bazil Meade from The London Community Gospel Choir said "Being asked to lend the voices of LCGC to the football World Cup song with Embrace, written to inspire the hearts and feet of the England Team going out to Germany in June, speaks volumes of the journey of LCGC. My voice will be shouting for the lads, and as they hear the passion and soul of those wonderful voices, may they be inspired to victory."
To celebrate the World Cup, LCGC will be appearing at The Phoenix Cinema in East Finchley, London on Thursday 15th June. The Cinema is screening the England vs Trinidad and Tobago match for FREE, and LCGC will perform from 4.15pm prior to kick off. Because admission is FREE availability will be on a strictly first come, first served basis only. Caribbean food, snacks and refreshments will be available on the day.
This event is supported by British Gospel Arts , based in East London , who aim to promote and develop gospel music through diverse opportunities. It offers music education workshops to schools, general public and the corporate sector. It also works closely with its sister organisation, The London Community Gospel Choir to provide performance opportunities for its students.
