Our Prayers for Jade Goody
Saturday 4th April marked a special celebration of Jade Goody's life. The London Community Gospel Choir were invited to sing some of Jade's favourite hymns. All songs were hand picked by Jade as she planned her funeral down to the last detail. The giant screens outside of The London Community Gospel Choir sang three hymns just before the herse arrived, 'How Great Thou Art', 'Abide With Me', and 'Swing Low Sweet Chariot'. Our 30 piece Choir wore pure white gowns to match the beautiful white flowers that lined the Church. At As the service came to an end the Rev Brixton said: "Reality is a word that is often linked to Jade. A star, possibly the greatest star of what we term reality TV. We know her life was far from free of the harsher realities of life. But as we've seen...she has inspired so many with her courage and fighting character and her dignity in facing death." then LCGC resounded with the songs 'Let it Be' and 'You Raise Me Up' as her coffin was carried away to be finally laid to rest at a private burial. Rev Bazil Meade, Founder and Principal of The London Community Gospel Choir said: "It was such an honour to be a part of this special day to celebrate the life of this remarkable lady. We are so pleased that we were able to sing the songs that Jade chose for her funeral. Jade is still such a positive influence to so many people and we thank God for the short time that she had. We pray for Jade's family and ask that God will comfort and strengthen them. We also pray for Jade's two precious sons that they will have God's protection and guidence for their future. All of our love and continued prayers from The London Community Gospel Choir."
