LCGC offers gospel workshops to schools, churches, young and old - but our new project means that we are reaching out to other choir's in Europe and the UK. With this spend a weekend with a Choir and teach participate in workshops over a two day period ending with a showcase concert featuring LCGC. This September an LCGC Workshop Team visited Colne in Lancashire and spent time with The Arden Youth Choir. The group of 25 enthusiastic teenagers spent two days in gospel training with three LCGC tutors and LCGC's keyboard player and songwriter Howard Francis. The workshops included gospel techniques, gospel harmonies, choir movements, voice projection, lead singing and voice blending. We also taught gospel songs such as Something Inside So Strong, Oh Happy Day, Abide With Me, Pass Me Not... just to name a few! The workshops were concluded with a fantastic concert that allowed Arden Youth Choir to perform to their friends and families all of the songs that they had just learnt! LCGC continued to energise the crowd with a gospel set before inviting the Arden Youth Choir back to the stage for a joint performance. Arden Youth Choir started the song Abide With Me and LCGC joined in as the music stopped and all voices were united and given the scope to be a cappella. Oh Happy Day was the final joint song and left both Choir's and audience feeling uplifted, motivated and inspired! These workshops are not exclusive!
