If any evidence is needed of the power and beauty of the human voice, LCGC provides it. LCGC is a collective of the finest voices in the country.
The choir was founded in 1982 by Rev. Bazil Meade, who still leads the choir. Although rooted in the glorious gospel tradition, their unique style also spans soul, R’n’B, Swing-beat, and is delivered with irresistible energy and choreography.
Testimony to LCGC’s sound are the artists that it has sung or recorded with: The late great James Brown, Madonna, Sting, Elton John, George Michael, Paul McCartney, Diana Ross, P. Diddy, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Westlife, Tina Turner and even Gorillaz.
With ‘Abide With Me’ as ITV’s new FA Cup theme, LCGC, bring a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘community singing’. For ninety years FA Cup Final crowds have sung this anthem, so how fitting that a gospel choir, and the ‘religion’ of football are now united!
