LCGC Captured on Canvas!

Lake District Artist Diana Cosford got her paints out and started work when she spotted a gospel choir rehearsing in the Caribbean Ocean off Montserrat.
And, after she e-mailed the image to the Principal of The London Community Gospel Choir, the Reverend Bazil Meade took time out from his group's performing schedule to visit her in Mawbray near Allonby and see the picture for himself.
Diana, who paints by the name of DEE, welcomed her visitor on his day-long trip from the capital.
Founder of the choir, Rev Meade fitted the trip in last week during a break in the choir's concerts which regularly sees members performing around the world. He said he "was thrilled with the sight" which had captured a spontaneous rehearsal of the group in the sea.
He added: "I was really moved by the unique way DEE captured the feel of the occasion."
DEE said: "My meeting with Reverend Meade was incredible. When I painted Unison it was a two dimensional image but I could sense the fantastic voices of the choir. It was truly exciting to share with Bazil how special the actual occasion had been. He was so animated, recognising the individuals within the picture and very excited with how I had captured their characters just in the attitude of their poses."

On behalf of Rev Bazil Meade and LCGC we would like to thank DEE very much for capturing the choir so beautifully. We are also very excited to receive the painting as a gift from DEE - and again we give her much thanks.
